About this trip
The Mermaid is perhaps the best known and oldest trip to Klein Curacao. For over 30 years, this trip has provided people from all over the world with a unique day on this uninhabited island. The Mermaid is a luxurious and large, seaworthy ship. In case you are afraid of getting seasick, you hardly have to worry about this on the Mermaid. Precisely because it is such a large ship, it has very little wave action.
And do you happen to be staying in Jan Thiel? Then add the hotel transfer to your reservation! We will only pick you up in a limousine in Jan Thiel for only 6 euros per person and bring you back at the end of the day.
The crossing is an experience in itself and generally takes just under two hours. We then sailed right along the coast of Curacao so you have a great view of Fuik, Duivelsklip and Oostpunt. Sometimes dolphins even swim with the ship! When we have passed the most southwestern tip of Curacao we change course toward Klein Curacao. In the distance, you can already see Klein Curacao’s iconic lighthouse and shipwreck. But what will mainly stand out are the endless beautiful white beaches.
Once at anchor, a small motorboat will drop you off knee-deep on the beach right in front of the beautiful private beach house. The beach house has a covered patio with picnic tables, restrooms, showers, sun beds and umbrellas. In short, all the facilities to make an adventure trip as comfortable as possible.
At noon, a delicious BBQ buffet awaits you with a variety of fish and meat (our chicken is always halal), salads and fruit. And throughout the day you may use the open bar consisting of ice water, fruit juices and soft drinks. Alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine are also available for a small fee.
Around four o’clock it is time to sail back to Curacao and enjoy after a special day full of unique new memories.

- The starting point of the trip is on Caracas Bay. Detailed directions follow in the reservation confirmation.
- The boat leaves at 07:00. We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes in advance.
- There is a parking lot at the starting point where you can park your car for free.
- Would you like to be picked up at your hotel? No problem! And at the end of the trip we will bring you back.
- If you have specific dietary preferences or allergies, please make them known during booking. We will do our best to take this into account.
The Mermaid trip to Klein Curacao is quite similar to the Serendipity trip . However, there are some differences and we have listed them for you.
- The boat of the Serendipity trip is a bit more luxurious and also faster.
- At the Mermaid, you only have the option to purchase alcoholic beverages by the piece. At the Serendipity, it is possible to add the Premium Open Bar or purchase alcoholic beverages by the piece for an additional fee.
- The Serendipity hosts a daily SnorkelSafari. At the Mermaid, no.
- At the Serendipity it is possible to get a massage, at the Mermaid it is not.
- The Serendipity has its own diving school, the Mermaid does not.
We require a 20% deposit with each booking. You may pay the balance on the day during check-in. This is possible in euros, dollars and guilders.
