Admire the dolphins from a distance

For those who would like to learn especially a lot about dolphins, the Dolphin Academy Curacao offers a Dolphin in Depth Course, where you will learn in detail what it is like to live and work with dolphins. In doing so, you will take a high-level course involving research on dolphins both past and present. However, this course is only for those who are at least 15 years old. You will also learn in this course how to train dolphins for the public. The Dolphin in Depth Course consists of two different levels, where you can choose whether to do them at the same time or, for example, during different vacations to Curacao. At the first level, you will learn how a training session with dolphins goes, meet the dolphins and learn how exactly preparing the food and feeding the dolphins works. At the second level, you will learn more about dolphin behavior in the water and conduct an experiment with echolocation. The course lasts 4 hours and is for a group of up to 6 people. Diving with dolphins
Are you more into diving? Dolphin Academy also offers an Open Water Dolphin Dive, for example. This involves diving with up to 10 people in the open sea. This is perfect for immersing yourself completely in the world of the dolphins themselves and so you can see what the natural behavior of dolphins is when they are in the ocean. This exciting activity is possible from as young as 12 years old, though there is a minimum height of 1.30 meters. You will spend a total of 1.5 hours on this experience, during which you will spend 45 minutes in the water. The entire experience costs approx. $295, which also gives you direct access to the Curacao Sea Aquarium. A diving certification is also possible for this and, unfortunately, the experience is not suitable for pregnant women. However, the equipment for diving is already included in the price, so you don’t have to think about anything yourself.
Dolphin spotting
Of course, if you prefer to go out on your own to see dolphins, this is also possible. First of all, dolphins can, of course, be found at Sea Aquarium Park. Here you can admire the dolphins extensively. If you would prefer to see them in the open sea, the best way to do so is when the Dolphin Academy takes the dolphins out to the open sea. In doing so, they will head mainly toward Mambo Beach and Zanzibar. To get a good view of dolphins from the shore, it is important to look out to sea, keeping a close eye on the horizon. The best thing to do then is to keep looking from left to right to see if there is water splashing up somewhere or if there are birds anywhere.
